I can infer that Tom was a sneaky and nosey man “her
husband was continually prying to detect her secret hoards, and many of the
things were the conflicts that took place about what ought to have been common
property”. He was miserly. Tom was a married man but him and his wife’s
marriage was rather unusual. They fought his face showed signs that their
conflicts weren't confidence to words. Tom was a rather selfish man, who didn't care about anyone’s happiness but his own. Tom was brave “he wasn't a man to be
troubled with any fears of the kind. Tom was not a man to stick to trifles
where the money was in view” he usually would take money no questions asked. I
know this because the author indirectly told me. Tom’s wife was a tall woman,
who was fierce of temper, loud, and really strong. I know this because the
author directly told me. She was just as miserly as her husband was whatever
she could lay her hands on she hid away the hen could not cackle but she was on
alert to secure the new laid egg. She was a rather brave woman; she and tom had
a lot in common. She didn't care for anyone but herself, she was greedy I know
this because the author directly but indirectly mentioned this “all her avarice
was awakened at the mention of gold, she urged Tom to comply wealth for life. She
only did what would benefit herself so she determined to drive the bargain on
her own. I can infer that old snatch was the devil. He arrived out of nowhere.
He had gumball red eyes, and he took people’s lives in the way that no one else
could or did.
